Read this book!

Here at TCM we are big supporters of the arts and one of those arts is reading. No, we don’t want you to run out and buy the War and Peace written by some half-crazed Russian nor will we force you to read the Harry Potter series, but we will try to point out must read’s when we come across them form time to time.

For starters, here’s a book that will make you laugh, cry, and shit your pants all at the same time. I’m talking about none other than I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell by Tucker Max.

tucker max Read this book!

The book knocked me on my ass when reading it. It’s written by a guy that is a self proclaimed asshole whose slept with more women than Charlie Sheen, puked more times than a fat kid at Chuck E Cheese, and has been legally drunk for the past 12 years.

This book is a must for any young gent whose trying to find his way in the world and looking to make some stories in the process. On the flip side, this book is a good read for any young women who is into self help books for dating – this will more or less tell you what men are thinking at any given moment.

It’s pretty much fun for all ages.

“You Can’t Win” by Jack Black

Don’t worry; it’s not that Jack Black. Oh, and to answer your other question, it’s only a myth that Pirates can’t read. It just takes us longer than most people. Have you ever wanted to know how to rob a jewelry store, get arrested, break out of jail and become richer than Donald Trump’s personal ass wiper all in the same day? How about sneaking into a man’s house and stealing the wad of cash under the pillow he’s sleeping on? Read this book. “You Can’t Win” by Jack Black

This an autobiography following Jack Black, a true Clint Eastwood type at the turn of the last century drifting from town to town, plundering and disappearing like a true land pirate. A man who was young enough to worship Billy the Kidd while he was still an outlaw. We see Jack move from hobo jungles to whore houses to opium dens and prisons all over America with other “colorful” hoodlums like Salt Chunk Mary, Foot and a Half George and the Sanctimonious Kid. This is a book detailing crime when it was still an art and smart criminals always had the upper hand.

Pleasuring the Pirate, A Book Review

Today at TCM, we would like to get intellectual on everyone and review a book.  In light of it being Pirate Week, what more appropriate book to review than Pleasuring the Pirate by Emily Bryan.

pleasuring the pirate Pleasuring the Pirate, A Book Review

To begin, lets discuss the title of the book; Pleasuring the Pirate. When I first saw the title, I was a bit confused. Was this a guide on how to pleasure a pirate, because I can tell you in 1 word on how to do so: Booty….well, also swashbuckling. So 2 words then.  But as I thought deeper into it, no…this book was an adventure, a dangerously romantic adventure.
