Their are way too many talk shows on tv these days. The qualifications to host one must be at an all time low. I mean come on, Tyra Banks? Carson Daley? (who has no personality whatsoever) and now GEORGE LOPEZ?!?!? Tona Danza had one and Rosie O’Donnell too. Just because you are a celebrity doesn’t mean your qualified. Fuck, I don’t know shit about Phil Donahue, Sally Jesse Raphael or Giraldo but I feel like their credentials were somehow better than what we let these hosts get away with today.
The other thing that bothers me is the insane amount of shows dissecting pop culture. It’s already bad enough we have shows highlighting events in pop culture (insert: TMZ and the entire E! channel) but do we really need shows ripping on pop culture too? As funny as Joel McHale and the tv show “The Soup” is, it’s a useless show. Even though they are making fun of pop culture, at the same time it’s being allowed to be promoted.
Stop endorsing pop culture, goddamit! Simply put, it’s just not that fucking interesting.
